Maya: Paintfx Tree Walkthrough
This is an introductory walkthrough of the PaintFX system as it relates to a tree. Once you know where to look and how to get started, PaintFX can be a powerful tool to allow you to populate a scene with a variety of foliage and other objects. The wealth of adjustments can be overwhelming, however I try to point out the ones most useful and how they impact the model. This is less of a tutorial and much more of a tour of the settings, however I feel this can be very useful information.

How to use a scripted directory to create relative file paths and protect the integrity of your project as you move it from place to place.
Nuke - Object Matchmove
Просмотров 31 тыс.7 лет назад
Nuke does not contain a dedicated object match move tool, but if you're in a pinch, just do a camera match to your object to get the same result.
Nuke - Intro to Gridwarp

Nuke - Projection Basics
Просмотров 32 тыс.7 лет назад
A basic look at creating projections in Nuke to allow you to spatially manipulate your footage. Once you've established your projections you gain quite a bit of flexibility and power in working with your footage for adding VFX.

ZBrush - Basic Maya to ZB to Maya Roundtrip
Просмотров 11 тыс.7 лет назад
Just a 10,000ft overview of the basic roundtrip methodology from Maya to ZBrush (Dynamesh, sculpt, remesh, UVs, reproject, export) and back to Maya. In Maya the normals and displacements get added and rendered in Renderman/RIS

Just a quick video to show how to get the rgbPP value of nParticles passed to a VRay material.
Maya : Renderman / RIS particle color
Просмотров 4,6 тыс.7 лет назад
The process of getting renderman to render particles with assigned color was not obvious to me. So when I found the solution I thought I'd pass it on. Here we can use the PxrPrimvar node to pass color data to the standard Pxr shaders (or any RIS shader). We can also create new variables and pass that information on as well by prefacing our var name with "rmanC" - for color. In the video I cover...
Maya - Basic Instancing Control

Some very basic ways to gain some control over your particle instances in Maya. Includes some very simple expressions as well as linking instance choices to ramps and color
Maya - Intro to nParticle goals and expressions
Просмотров 9 тыс.7 лет назад
A very basic first look at what goals are in nParticles and how to add expressions into your system. In the video I add some goal geometry to an nParticle system. I introduce expression through the goalU and goalV parameter which allows you to place particles very precisely on a surface and animate them.
Maya - Basic Particle Dissolve Result

Worked, thx
thank you so much dude you're a god
great
Thanks so much buddy - this was perfect.
I thought it was a hoax, but everything works!
my friend Thanks for sharing this
How to do the same if I want to project from the 360 (latlong) image?
You my friend, are a saviour! Thanks for making it crystal clear
Great and so needed please also some tut's for head tracking and face and head tracking in Maya and Nuke please sir ..Hi there myself Rony a VFX CG student from India
still great! thanks for the tutorial
You should have added this to your (making of video.) That worked out great.
I love you. Thanks so much for this
El tutorial mas completo y rápido, justo lo que estaba buscando, gracias!
hmm. Looks like chaos group changed the VrayParticleTex to not have an RGBPP channel anymore. Only out color. Can't seem to get this to work anymore. edit - ah! never mind. I'm a dummy. Using maya's native particleSamplerInfo node has RGBPP. VrayParticleTex node is the way of madness.
NO coding for this artist! I'm fine with nodes...
Thank You so much, was really helpful.
thanks !!!
Just amazing some of the things Nuke can do. Thank you for this awesome tutorial/
Thank you!
Hi ! Thanks for tuto 😊 Also, how do you know film back values of your iPhone ? I unfortunetly research film back values of my galaxy note 8, have you got tricks for that ?
is there a way inmaya to add a character rig in a group or a null so the null can control the rotation of the character
TIL Norm Mcdonald is a comper ;D Thanks for the video!
Great tutorial. I like that you illustrated it for the visual minded folks.
Good stuff!
So amazing. Thank you for doing this. Love your process and articulation.
I understand the power that one would want to access but as an artist-friendly tool, this is ridiculous. Look at Lightwave 3D instancer !! making an asteroid field quickly, the coding seems unnecessary for initial setup.
Smart ass 😉
Thank you! This video definitely needs more views! Thank you again for your time! Bless you!
I didn’t know Tom Hanks knew how to use ZBrush! :o
The DynaMesh trick really helped me! Thank you a lot! :)
Please check out my tutorial on these easy trick ruclips.net/video/xg6Pb2qIVxs/видео.html
Thank you for this. good lord I could NOT find a tutorial on how to make particles flow along a surface. well done.
Great tutorial
It helped a lot. Thank you!
i have a question, why u did not explain how to crate the ramp effect, like when the object disapear instead the ramp goes down.
Thanks!
Very informative! Thanks
Awesome you just saved my project <3
Please Update!!!
great!! its very help full .. plz make a detail tutorial on goal UVs ..
Nice one sir 👌👍.
thank you !
I wonder if this can be done for free now using Da Vinci Resolve and Blender
I think in video clip "Fuck you" from Lily Allen this technik was applied, combined with 3d tracking.
thanks for this tutorial!! is it great!!
Blue Peter style. Here's one I I prepared earlier...
Very helpful . Thank you
very very nice tutorial, thank you !
Tried rendering my particles on VRAY NEXT GPU on Maya 2018 and the color does not render. I got it to work on CPU though.
amazing, very clear i love it
